WHEN, WHERE AND HOW THE PCEA WAS CONCEIVED AND BORN FROM KBWEZI TO OUR REGION
In 1938 the Mbagathi Kirksession met at Ruthimitu and decided to evangelize the work of God in Riruta, The Session managed to get a plot at Mukuyu near Lenana High School. They build a School which was thatched with grass by Ruthimitu School Children (boys). This school became the first church in Riruta and Waithaka. Members were using the classrooms for worship on Sundays. Ruthimitu School Headmaster the Late Robert Kariu Kirina was also in charge of the new school. Some of the Pupils in the ew school were attending Sunday school at Ruthimitu Church. Unfortunately, the new school did not last long because in 1039 it was burnt down by unknown people.
In 1957 the then Thogoto Kirk session found a plot at Waithaka “Mithonge’ and decided to build a church. Iron Sheets were donated by individual members. Again, Ruthimitu School Children assisted with construction.
