PCEA Namanga Nendeni Area Congregations

Namanga Mission Area was started in the year 1993. Namanga Town Church was the first congregation. Lang’ata Parish coordinating with Ngong Hills Presbytery held a convention from 5^th March 1993. The following were the preachers in that convention.

1. Rev. Patrick Rukenya – Deputy Secretary General
2. Rev. John Gathaiya – Oloolaiser Ngong
3. Rev. Kingsley Nyirenda – Malawi
4. Rev. Samuel Ole Nakeel – Ongata Rongai

Among the first few members of the congregation were;

4. Wangare Mucigi
5. Maria Munyapara

Mr. Noah Ole Kishil’s name must be mentioned for identifying the church site where Namanga P.C.E.A Church stands today. The following church Ministers were very instrumental in laying the foundation of Namanga Mission Area during those early days.

From Namanga the church opened another congregation at Olmollelian in the Maparasha area.

From Olmollelian other followed i.e. P.C.E.A Ilpartimaro. Today there are 17 congregations in Namanga Mission. A few are big but many are small and now well organized.

Mother Parishes in Nairobi have played a very important part in the growth of this mission area. Some of these parishes are;

5. Mutu-ini
6. Dagoretti
7. Waithaka
8. Karen Central

Some mother parishes who must also be mentioned for their contribution are;

Today, these Parishes are affiliated with P.C.E.A Millimani North Presbytery. The contributions of the above Parishes must be mentioned for their tireless effort in both spiritual and physical growth at Namanga Mission Area.
