PCEA Dagoretti Parish

The Church of Scotland Mission after founding at Thogoto; the wife to the Missionary Mrs. Thomas Watson started Ruthimitu Mission in 1902, P.C.E.A Dagoretti Parish was born at P.C.E.A Ruthimitu Church.

Church services were conducted in a hut which was provided by the late Chief Kioi wa Nagi.   

Mr. Hezron Nduru was the first to be baptized in 1919 by Rev. Dr. J. W. Arthur.

The church experienced a very difficult time i.e. “Muthirigu” time was objecting Christianity teachings which opposed the Kikuyu customs in particular FGM.

The Parish is stable and consists of 3 churches namely P.C.E.A Ruthimitu Church, P.C.E.A Githima Church and P.C.E.A Kagondo Church.
