PCEA Muteero Church- Celebrating our Past as we move forward together

A message from Elder Wangai Maina as PCEA Muteero celebrates its 40th Anniversary

1st Samuel 7:12 – That far the Lord has helped us. (Ebenezer)

Greetings in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ! I wish to take this opportunity given by the Lord to welcome you all to this special occasion as we celebrate 40 years since the establishment of this wonderful congregation.
The origins of this congregation were humble and it started with Sunday school classes in 1981 at Maasai School, which is not very far from the church compound. With a few church school teachers and a handful of children and teenagers, the long commute to PCEA St Andrews and PCEA Bahati Martyrs, where they previously worshipped, came to an end with a new beginning full of infinite possibilities.
For four decades, we have witnessed steady growth, nurtured by our Heavenly Father, who through His
written Word in Psalm 32:8 has assured us that “I will instruct you and teach you in the way you should go; I
will counsel you with my loving eye on you”. Therefore, it has been the core vision and mission of this congregation, to spend time with God in His word, worship and prayer, to have care, love and concern for all, to be hospitable and welcoming to everyone regardless of their status, to focus on the family, to empower all for works of service and give opportunities to all to serve God and man with their talents and to make Jesus Christ our Lord and savior known to the ends of the earth.
I wish to thank the Ministers, Elders, Deacons, group and committee officials, church administration (past
and present), and members of PCEA Muteero Church, for their unity, service, sacrifice, leadership and
generosity which has kept the vision of the founders burning bright these 40 years. The path to where we are has not been easy, and at times it has not been clear, but you have stayed the course as gallant soldiers for Christ and I pray for God’s blessings upon you and your families.
I look forward to the future in excitement as we look forward and step up to the next level of being a
Parish. We must continue to grow in Christ, united and pressing on and forward, even during the current
Covid-19 Pandemic and in this digital age. We must not and cannot stop looking unto Jesus, the author and
finisher of our faith, for the journey has just begun.
As we celebrate together for the years given and for the new things that the Lord is about to do in our midst, May the Love of God be with us, now and forever more.
Feel most welcome, for there is always a welcome here.
Blessings!
